Low Cost Spay / Neuter Program
We aim to provide more pet owners with low cost sterilization for their feline companions. Along with helping reduce & control the population of these animals, it is beneficial to their health.
Stats Canada estimates that 23% of all Canadian households have a cat. The current population of Camrose is 20,000
20,000 / 2 = 10,000 households x 0.23 = 2,300 (owned) cats, if we are to assume that each of the households in the 23% have only 1 cat

Our current low cost Spay & Neuter Program is paid for by grant monies received and we nearly always have a waitlist for this program. Allowing more clients to access this program will aid us, as it could help keep future litters of kittens from requiring our shelter services. There is a major pet overpopulation issue in our entire country, not just here in Camrose, and it is in everyone's benefit to do what we can to help reduce these numbers.
