Adoptable Cats

Animals adopted from our organization must be kept indoors only, the exception are cats that are adopted out for barns/shops. Otherwise these are companion animals and are never to be left outside. All cats / kittens adopted out from the Camrose & Area Animal Shelter Society are vaccinated, dewormed, sterilized & microchipped prior to adoption. Kittens under 8 months of age must be adopted out as a pair, or into a home with another cat of similar energy.

Garth (M)

This handsome gentleman came in as a "failed farmcat". He was meant to work outdoors but it became apparent that this wouldn't be an option as he was too friendly and always under foot while people were working on heavy equipment. He is a sweet boy, loves snuggles and chin scritches. He is a little anxious, changes scare him a little, but he settles in quickly and comes around fast. Garth was brought in with a couple other cats and he doesn't seem to be super reactive in the shelter. We believe that as long as he is introduced properly and other felines in his world are respectful, Garth would be okay with a roommate or two.

Bailey & Brady are littermates that came in together. They are super shy and scared, and although Bailey is a little more outgoing & friendly this pair would do best in a quiet home with no children or dogs. They are comfortable and non-reactive with other cats.

DOB February 10, 2025 Gilbert and his family (mom and 4 littermates) were surrendered to our shelter when he was only 1 day old. they spent time in a foster home while they waited to be big enough to begin the vetting process, and now they are getting ready to head to their furever home! Gilbert is a quirky boy, he’s fun and cuddly and has an awesome purrsonality. he is still very young so he must be adopted with a companion, or into a home with another younger feline friend with similar energy. Gilbert & his brother Grant would make an excellent pairing.

Grant is the gentle, softer spoken boy in his family. he is still playful and goofy, but he is the first to initiate cuddles and snuggles with his human companions. he is still very young so he must be adopted with a companion, or into a home with another younger feline friend with similar energy. grant & his brother gilbert would make an excellent pairing.

DOB January 8, 2018 Don't let her grumpy look fool you! Miss Janet is a real lovebug! Janet doesn't do great with other cats, but with time and energy she may settle into a home with other kitties (if they're mellow and respectful). Janet is quickly coming up on her 7th birthday and she would love to find her furever family before that happens.

Low Cost Spay & Neuter Program

Each cat we put through this program will be sterilized and microchipped for easier identification. We aim to raise $20,000 to help continue to fund our program. This amount of money could sterilize as many as 133 female cats (or a number of combinations of males and females). Often owners receive free cats and are unable to afford to spay or neuter, this results in more kittens born &/ adult cats requiring to be rehomed. Unfixed animals are more likely to roam in search of a mate; being outside and roaming means that they are more likely to get lost, stolen, hurt or possibly die before finding a mate.
