Hi! My name is Sherry Lafortune. I’ve been a Board Director since early 2017. The Shelter has been my second home! I grew up loving animals and have many “fur babies” of my own now. I also have two children, run a horse boarding facility and work full time as a dental assistant.

Hi! I’m Leah Daoust-Hoskins and I am the board secretary. I have worked at a wildlife hospital, humane society, vet clinics, and boarding kennels. I am a Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid certified instructor. I love teaching dog and cat first aid courses! I am also a dog trainer holding the CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed) certification. 

Hi, I'm Alex. I've been with the shelter since 2020. Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to have a house full of animals and run a rescue to take care of the ones that had no home. Since moving to Camrose, my husband and I have grown our family to include 6 cats, 5 snakes, 3 dogs, 2 guinea pigs and a bearded dragon. When I'm not taking care of shelter projects, I'm home with my family or out taking pictures on the backroads of Camrose County.

My name is Roy Hoskins and I’m a board director. In the past I worked at a wildlife hospital. One of my jobs with the wildlife hospital was doing humane wildlife exclusion for home owners. My volunteering with domestic animals began with dog walking at Cochrane Humane Society many years ago. In addition to volunteering with the Camrose & Area Animal Shelter Society, I am a volunteer firefighter with the Round Hill fire department, I volunteer with the Round Hill Elks, and I volunteer with Big Brothers. 

Hi my name is Linda Korbyl I joined the Camrose Animal Shelter family July 2021. I grew up with many animals and I currently have a wonderful rescue cat. I have lived in Camrose for over 25 years. I have a home base hair salon called Shape It Salon and have been doing hair for 8 years.

Hi. I'm Jennifer Edmonds, mama to 3 amazing kiddos & I have been involved in rescue for nearly 10 years. We have 3 cats of our own & as a family we have hosted many foster animals & helped them find their furever homes.

Hi, I’m Anna-Marie. I’m a Registered Nurse and mom to an amazing son. I have been an animal lover since forever- many pictures of me as an infant snuggling with our huge cat Tiger!! I have been involved with animal rescue for close to 30 years. My perfect life would be a farm filled with rescues of every type of animal. My house is filled with many foster fails/wins.

Hi! I'm Matt & I have been with the shelter since Feb 2018. I began working as a volunteer & quickly became addicted to this place! Over the past 5+ years I have gone from volunteer to manager, filling many positions along the way - all with the same thing in mind - FOR THE ANIMALS!
I am always happy (and proud) to see the animals leave the shelter & I am blessed to be a part of the entire process. When I am not at the shelter I can be found at events, or at home with my own animals, multiple foster cats and my kiddos!
